• How fast can an electrician get to my house?

  Call and we tell you the next open slot while you are on the phone. Anything that is not safe to leave goes first. When the schedule is full we say so instead of promising a window we cannot keep.

• Is there a fee to find the problem?

  The visit is priced when you book. It covers finding the actual fault and a written repair price. If you go ahead with the repair, that is the price you pay, no surprises added later.

• Why does my breaker keep tripping?

  Three usual causes: too much plugged into one circuit, a fault in the wiring or in something plugged into it, or a breaker that has worn out. Unplug everything on the circuit and reset it once. If it holds, it was overload. If it trips with nothing plugged in, leave it off and call.

• Are two prong outlets a problem?

  They mean the box has no ground, so surge protectors do nothing and anything with a metal case is less safe. It is not an emergency, and it is worth fixing properly, either with a new grounded circuit or with labeled GFCI protection. See outlets and switches.

• How do I know if my panel needs replacing?

  Fuses instead of breakers, no room for another circuit, breakers that trip when two appliances run together, heat, rust, buzzing or scorch marks. Age alone is not a reason. See panel upgrades.

• Does electrical work need a permit?

  Small repairs generally do not. Panel replacements, service upgrades, new circuits for chargers and generators, and the wiring for an addition generally do, and the inspection protects you when the house is sold. Where a job needs one we handle it and tell you what it adds to the timeline.

• Why do my lights dim when the air conditioner starts?

  A brief dip as a big motor starts is normal. A deep dim, a long one, or one that shows up across the whole house points to a loose connection at the panel, the meter or the line from the pole, and that is worth a visit.

• What is the difference between GFCI and AFCI?

  A GFCI protects people from shock where water is close, and lives in kitchens, baths, garages and outdoors. An AFCI watches for the arcing that starts fires inside walls, and protects bedrooms and living areas. They do different jobs, and some breakers do both.

• Can my panel handle an EV charger?

• Do you work on older homes with old wiring?
